food

The food a person chooses to eat is dependent upon taste, smell, and sometimes texture. Everyone around the world has a distinct and personal favorite food. However, why are people more attached to certain foods.
People can become attached to certain foods, because it can remind them of a loved one, or simply fulfill a craving. On several different occasions, people select foods that are most familiar to them. Certain foods link people back to their childhood, or create a nostalgic feeling. Also some people prefer foods that are sweet, spicy, sour, or salty. Some foods are associated with the holidays such as turkey and honey baked hams on thanksgiving, candy canes on Christmas, chocolate covered strawberries on Valentine ’s Day, jawbreakers on Halloween, strawberry cake, with cream cheese icing on someone’s birthday.
Foods can also be selected for the nutritional value. If someone is on a diet they are more prone to choose foods that are low in sugar such as broccoli, cucumber, peas, and asparagus. Someone on a diet is not necessarily going to eat something such as, a donut, cheeseburger, supersized French fries, fried chicken, or pizza.   There are different reasons as to why people eat the foods they eat and why they eat the foods they eat. Most of the foods we eat, are either chosen for their nutritional value, dependent on a special day, or dependent on our mood. Whatever the situation may be, people choose the foods they want to eat. No one has control over the types of foods someone else eats.
